Abomination..!Gone are the good old days when African social culture had boundaries,when people from the same village would not date,leave alone marry because they considered themselves brothers and sisters.Thanks to globalization and cultural imperialism in developing countries Kenya included ,now people with family ties are marrying each other without looking over their shoulders if anyone is watching.
Setting- Kenya; a father adapts a name for social media to hide his true identity, adapts single and searching status, mentions he is financially stable looking for a beautiful young girl with light complexion,learned either working or looking for a job of course with relevant papers. After ten minutes he gets several responses, he smiles and remembers the letters he used to write to his wife before they got married; the waiting was physiologically torturing thanks to new media . John settles on one response by the help of his instinct. Her name is Caro, another disguised social media name. They two fall in love; chat for two months before they finally settle on a date in a three star hotel in town.
John leaves home and informs the family he is going for a job oriented seminar out of town, the daughter asks daddy if he can drop him off in town, the two leave together. John drops the daughter at a designated drop off point and heads to meet the babe!. Well compose and on time, guess who he meets waiting for him.......................... of course his baby!.
May be things would have been different if he would have used a letter
